JODHPUR: Amid speculations of the third wave of Covid, district administration has planned a mega Covid vaccination programme in Jodhpur district on September 15.
Approximately 3 lakh persons will be vaccinated on this day at 1,000 centres across the district, comprising all gram panchayats, PHCs, CHCs and district hospitals.
CMHO Balwant Manda informed that this mega vaccination programme is for those who have not yet received the first dose and those who have been struggling to get the second dose.
“This mega programme will cover all gram panchayats and we would be striving to reach out to as many people as possible with the help of public representatives and other eminent persons,” said Manda.
Nodal officer and RCHO Kaushal Dave said that a coordination meeting was held with the pradhans, sarpanchs, mayors, ward panchs, councillors, panchayat samiti members and public representatives, to appeal to them to encourage people to take advantage of this drive and get vaccinated.
“All persons seeking to get vaccinated must visit any of the centres with just an identity document and mobile phone to get registered on the spot and get the shot,” Dave said.
District magistrate Indrajit Singh said that this was the best opportunity for all those who have not yet been vaccinated or are awaiting second dose.
