Jobs saved after Long Eaton firm bought out of administration

Nearly 30 jobs have been saved after administrators were called in and helped to sell a Long Eaton accident repair business.

After administrators were appointed for WG Newman (Garage) Limited, the business was sold to Pronto Care Midlands Limited, saving all 27 jobs.

Joint administrator Lee Lockwood, of Begbies Traynor , said: “After more than 50 years of trading, it is good news for employees, customers and suppliers that the business will continue to operate as part of a larger group. We wish them well.”

WG Newman (Garage) Limited was established in 1965, providing paint and body repairs.

It suffered a loss in turnover and, after a period of marketing, which resulted in various offers, a pre-packaged sale was agreed to Pronto Care Midlands Limited, part of the Lovells Group, which has auto repair sites across the Midlands. All 27 staff members transferred to the buyer.

Nicky Calthrop-Own, of Actons Solicitors, acted for the joint administrators and Lemi McAuley, of Shoosmiths, acted for Pronto Care Midlands.
