Jobs reduced to selling tea, pakoras: NSUI

CHANDIGARH: National Student Union of India (NSUI), the student group of the Congress on Friday staged protests at Panjab University to mark PM Narendra Modi's birthday. The students celebrated the day as National Unemployment Day and expressed their anger over unemployment by displaying banners of Modi university selling courses of masters in tea making and pakora frying, engineering in Cart manufacturing etc.

NSUI state vice-president Shub Sekhon said, “There is no other employment left for the youth of our country other than selling, tea, pakoras, etc. The educated youth is wandering unemployed on the streets with degrees in their hands. Due to hike in prices of cooking oil and gas it has become difficult to sell tea and pakoras also.”

Student leaders said unemployment rate of the country increased from 2.4% to 10.3% in just one year, but the PM was engaged in spreading false propaganda.

Earlier too, the Congress party and its different wings were seen protesting against the government on the issues of unemployment, youth, price rise of essential commodities and fuel.
