South Dublin County Council are looking to hire full-time staff for two positions and the pay isn’t too bad.
The council has advertised permanent roles for a sports recreational officer and a water and drainage inspector.
The closing date for the application for both roles is October 31.

Sports Recreational Officer
Candidates applying for sports recreational officer must “be of good character," the job description states.
Applicants must have a degree in sports development or leisure management, two years or more experience of working in a sports development environment as well as experience in working with sports clubs, community groups, and young people, amongst other things.
The Council is offering €52,724 to €54,279 for the full-time permanent position as well as pension.
Duties of a sports recreational officer include planning, promoting, and developing sport and recreation in South Dublin County as well as delivering a wide range of programmes and initiatives, as well as to support the development of local sports clubs.

Water and Drainage Inspector
The council is offering a full-time permanent position for water and drainage inspector.
The pay scale is pretty good with the starting salary advertised at €42,777.
Candidates already working in a council position will receiver a larger pay.
Applicants must have a good standard of general education, high standard of environmental awareness, be able to write clear and concise reports, hold a current full category B driving licence, read maps and prepare sketch maps, and have the ability to operate a computer amongst other things.
It is desirable to have a good knowledge of water and drainage systems and practices, and of the health aspects of water supply and/or drainage works, sewers and sewage disposal systems, including pumping stations, overflows, and treatment works.
