Jobs in Dublin: Irish Rail is looking for apprentices with a particular set of skills

Irish Rail has announced a host of apprenticeships in Dublin for this autumn.

The national rail service is looking for female and male candidates for the positions of Apprentice Fitter, Apprentice Electrician, and Apprentice Motor Mechanic.

Successful applicants will be working on complex signalling and telecommunication systems and some of the most modern fleets in Europe.

Irish Rail is looking for someone with the following skills:

-Checking skills and concern for quality

-Safety consciousness

-Handling information and ability to follow instructions

-Technical understanding and manual capability

-Work organisation and ability to plan sequence of operations in order to complete tasks

-Teamwork and communication

-Problem solving and analytical skills

-Interest and motivation

Interested candidates need to be at least 16 years of age and have a Junior or Leaving Certificate to apply.

The apprenticeships will also be located in Athlone, Claremorris, Cork, Drogheda, Limerick, Mallow, and Portlaoise.

Deadline for applications is July 19.
