Jobs boost in Paisley as Costa Coffee opens biggest UK drive-thru in town

Renfrewshire has been handed a jobs boost after a popular coffee chain opened its largest drive-thru outlet in the UK.

Costa Coffee’s new branch, managed by Kirsty Burrows, can be found at the old Frankie & Benny’s site in Abbotsinch Retail Park, Paisley.

The new store welcomed customers from 10am on Monday with prizes being handed out to the first 100 motorists who used the drive-thru.

A raffle will also be taking place to raise funds for the Costa Foundation, which supports schools in coffee-growing communities.

Kirsty said: “We are Costa Coffee’s biggest drive-thru in the UK and we’re hoping to attract lots of people to the retail park.

“We have recruited around 15 people who are local to Renfrewshire and our team are very enthusiastic, happy and down-to-earth.

The new Costa will be located in the former Frankie and Benny's building in Paisley (Andrew Neil)

“If anyone is looking for a wee chat or would just like to visit a friendly environment, this is definitely the place to come.”

The regular opening hours for the shop will be 6am to 9.30pm from Mondays to Friday; 7am to 8pm on Saturdays and 8am to 7pm on Sundays.
