A FAMILY-RUN haulage and freight firm in West Lothian has plunged into administration, with jobs placed at risk.

JKM Transport Solutions Ltd, based in Armadale, appointed administrators on June 29.

The news was published in the Edinburgh Gazette on Friday, with Companies House data also confirming the business has filed for insolvency.

George Lafferty, of BTG Begbies Traynor (Central) LLP, has been named as the liquidator overseeing the company.

There is no information on the number of jobs that have been lost as a result.

The business was incorporated in August 2021 and describes itself as a "small family-run haulage contractor" which was responsible for everything from long-distance hauls to local store deliveries.

The firm operated its fleet around the clock, with trucks on the road at all hours to meet the demands of the haulage industry.
