Jobs in Edinburgh: Scottish ambulance service looking for trainees in Edinburgh and the Lothians

If you have ever fancied doing a rewarding job that could literally save lives, but don't know where to start, this could be for you.

The Scottish Ambulance Service is looking to take on trainee Ambulance Technicians which would begin their journey in November and qualify after 16 months of training.

You must have your own clean driving license and SCQF Level 4 or above in Maths and English to apply.

Despite being a trainee position, the role has a generous starting salary of £22,154 per annum, rising to £25,100 when the course has been completed.

The ambulance service is encouraging people of all ethnic backgrounds as well as people with a disability to apply for the role.

Ideal candidates would be able to "show compassion and empathy" when dealing with "difficult situations."

Trainee Ambulance Technicians should also be able to "keep calm under pressure, make good decisions and take control."

The first 14 weeks of training would be carried out at a regional training centreand then the trainee would progress to progress to an Ambulance Station where they would be mentored by other qualified staff.
