Joaquin Correa linked, Milot Rashica's £13m release clause and latest Liverpool transfer rumours rated

The Coronavirus pandemic might have stopped football but it will never stop the transfer rumour mill.

And while we might not know when football will resume or when the summer transfer window will ever re-open as FIFA re-jig their calendar, Liverpool continue to be linked with a whole host of talent.

In today's edition of transfer rumours rated, Theo Squires weighs up the latest Reds gossip and separates the wheat from the chaff.

WHO?

Joaquin Correa. Lazio's 25-year-old forward who was previously on the books at Sevilla and scored in their 2-2 draw at Anfield in 2017.

WHERE?

Italian club? It's got to be pesky reports over in Italy!

And sure enough, CittaCeleste claim Liverpool are interested in the 25-year-old has been identified as a replacement for Sadio Mane and could be available for as little as £20million in a market ravaged by the financial impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, despite his contract containing a £72m release clause.

The report also suggests the Reds could relinquish their 30% sell-on clause for Luis Alberto in search of a better deal for the Argentina international.

WHAT?

Correa has scored eight goals and provided four assists for Lazio this season and does seemingly suit Liverpool's style.

Playing predominantly behind a striker, he's also comfortable playing on the left.

However, Jurgen Klopp has no intention of losing any of his current front three this summer.

Meanwhile, it seems highly unlikely Lazio would drop their asking price by over £50m.

WHO?

Milot Rashica. That Werder Bremen winger who you'd never heard of before he was linked with Liverpool who keeps getting linked with the Reds.

WHERE?

Bild, cited by Sports Mole, claim the 23-year-old's contract contains a release clause believed to be in the region of (€38m) £33m.

However, if Bremen are relegated that lowers to €15m (£13m) with the Reds, Aston Villa and RB Leipzig all reported to be exploring the possibility of signing the Kosovo international this summer.

WHAT?

Liverpool love a transfer bargain so if they are interested, a £13m move would appear very appealing for the Reds.

However, while Bremen are currently 17th in the 18-team Bundesliga, football's current suspension because of Coronavirus leaves it even less certain that they would actually go down.

Plus, Rashica is said to have reservations about going to Anfield and just being a squad option.

WHO?

Kai Havertz. You know this one. Germany wonderkid. Plays for Bayer Leverkusen. Was set to cost over £100m.

WHERE?

Vinny O'Connor's done a transfer Q&A on Sky Sports and as well as ruling out a Liverpool move for Timo Werner, says they're not interested i the 20-year-old either.

He said: "Another player, like Timo Werner, who has been constantly linked with Liverpool and, on the face of it, appears to be a possibility. And, like Werner, all the noises out of Anfield contradict that.

"Back in the January transfer window I was told that Liverpool had no interest in Havertz going as far as to say that Liverpool's name was being used to give others a nudge to move for him.

"As it stands I have been given no indication their stance has changed. Obviously things can change….Liverpool thought Alisson was going elsewhere before it became apparent they could get the deal done.

"The difference in that case of course was we knew they had a solid interest in Alisson."

Blood Red: Should Liverpool be interested in £100m-rated Kai Havertz?

WHAT?

We never expected Liverpool to move for Havertz when his asking-price was so high anyway.

While it might indeed lower due to changes in the market, a Reds move still appears highly unlikely.
