Joao Sacramento names the Tottenham player who will start vs Royal Antwerp in the Europa League

Tottenham assistant head coach Joao Sacramento has confirmed that Gareth Bale will start Thursday's Europa League game against Royal Antwerp.

Rejoining the Lilywhites on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid in September, the Welshman has only featured in two games for Spurs since his move back to N17.

Bale was named in the squad for Monday's 1-0 win over Burnley but was an unused substitute at Turf Moor as Jose Mourinho opted to bring on Erik Lamela, Giovani Lo Celso and Joe Rodon.

However, his chance from the off will come once again in the Europa League as Spurs travel to Belgium for their second Group J game.

“I can tell you that we will make some changes but like in every previous match, the changes don’t mean that the team is weak,” Sacramento told the club's official website.

“We believe that with the squad that we have, even with rotation, the team will keep the level and the quality of play.

“Tomorrow, Gareth Bale will start. Gareth is improving a lot – in terms of fitness level, his condition is much, much better, he’s feeling better every day and with the interaction that we have with him, he’s feeling very positive and we believe that soon he will be at his top level again.”

Sacramento also confirmed that Japhet Tanganga would once again be missing for Spurs through injury after failing to make a matchday squad for the team since the Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea at the end of September.

However, everyone else is fit and available to play and Mourinho is set to rotate his team to keep things fresh.

Gedson Fernandes, Paulo Gazzaniga and Rodon are ineligible for the game as they weren't registered as part of the Spurs squad for the group stage of the competition.
