Joao Moreira's five-timer at Sha Tin on Sunday took him to 900 career winners as he became only the fourth jockey in history to reach the notable milestone.
Nicknamed the ‘Magic Man’, Moreira rattled off a quick hat-on Above, Fantasy and Juneau Park, before the Brazilian notched his fourth success of the day aboard 4/1 shot Picken.
He ended proceedings on 901 winners after riding 12/1 outsider Shining Ace two lengths clear in the finale, to complete the five-win rout.
He is now two ahead of old rival Zac Purton in the jockeys' title race.
“I wasn’t counting It’s a great mark to reach but I want to be looking back on it, leaving it behind,” he said.
Douglas Whyte, Tony Cruz and Purton have also reached 900 winners and Moreira's haul was achieved on his 4,094th ride in Hong Kong.
Purton carded a double himself but finds himself behind overall as the battle for the jockeys' championship continues apace.
