Joao Felix has created an unusual 'group' at Chelsea which involves summer transfer target Rafael Leao. The group chat, which the Portuguese claimed would better connect with fans, also features Blues centre-back Trevoh Chalobah.
With Chalobah being the only member of the trio permanently contracted at Stamford Bridge, he could help Blues co-owner Todd Boehly persuade Felix to stay at the club when his loan expires at the end of the season and tempt AC Milan star Leao with a move to west London. Leao is facing an uncertain future at the San Siro with talks ongoing over extending his contract to stay in Milan, and Chelsea are one of a number of clubs interested.
Adding to his Instagram Stories, Felix wrote: "I'd love to connect with all of you more and thank you for the amazing support. I don't think anybody has ever done that yet.

"What would you think if I created a giant group chat? You could directly text me and I would - actually - be able to see everything and interact with all of you everyday. If I had to create this giant group chat would you want to join or not? Just tryna see who would be interested"
Felix accompanied that post with a poll asking: "Should I do it?" A second post added: "OK OK OK I seeeee we're on the same page.
"So for anyone who wants to connect with me or ask me anything this is the link to the group chat I created. Feel free to join and let's link up. @iamrafaeleao93 [Rafael Leao] and @yungchalobah [Trevoh Chalobah] are also on it!"
Previously, Chelsea defender Reece James may have been involved in a series of hints pointing towards Leao joining the club in the near future. A whole set of public conversations have played out on social media as well as the winger following the official Chelsea account on the platform TikTok.
According to Spanish journalist Manu Sainz, Milan rejected a €100million (£86.5m) bid from Chelsea back in the summer on transfer deadline day. It remains to be seen if the Blues will open the bidding once again to test the resolve of the Rossoneri hierarchy, however recent reports suggest that it could take less to land him.
Meanwhile, Joao Felix himself may have dropped a major hint over his own future if his social media is anything to go by as he liked a tweet regarding his Blues career. A post from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reads: "Joao Felix, extremely good for Chelsea — that’s why #CFC plan to negotiate his permanent stay in the summer."
