Joao Carvalho's second successive start welcomed by Nottingham Forest's fans

Nottingham Forest fans welcomed Martin O’Neill’s team selection for the game against QPR at Loftus Road.

He has made just one change from the 3-0 destruction of Middlesbrough on Monday as the injured Pele was replaced by Sam Byram who is expected to play at right-back.

Joao Carvalho has retained his place in the starting XI and it will be the first time he has started consecutive games under O’Neill, sparking jubilation amongst Forest fans, who had been critical of O'Neill's reluctance to use the Portuguese star in recent weeks as Forest's play-off hopes fell apart.

The introduction of Byram into the team means there will be probably a change in formation but it seems the fans are content enough with their Portuguese magician keeping his place in the side.

There was also a single change to the substitutes bench as Saidy Janko has been replaced by Ben Watson who was left out at the City Ground five days ago.
