Joanne McNally's love life - secret boyfriend, celebrity dating app drama and 'deranged' daters

Joanne McNally is known for many things, being a standup comedian, the podcast she hosts with pal Vogue Williams, My Therapist Ghosted Me and her interesting love life.

The self proclaimed Jo-mantic revealed she met her Irish boyfriend on celebrity dating app Raya.

The comedian previously shared that his name is Dennis and he is from Bray, but she remained coy on further details about their relationship.

She is clearly loved up as she has joked that the pair are “engaged” as neither of them is sleeping with anyone else.

She told Vogue in their podcast: “I went back home [to Ireland] with the intention of wrapping it up with Dennis.

“I was like look, it can’t go anywhere. I don’t live there, you don’t live here. You’ve got kids, you’re not going anywhere.

“Anyway, I basically lived with him for five days in Killiney castle and now I think we’re engaged."

She continued: “It was basically like ‘Are you riding anyone else?’ ‘No. Are you riding anyone else?’ ‘No.’

“He was like ‘Let’s just ride the wave’ and I guess I’m the wave.”

Joanne opted for a “soft launch” when introducing her man to her fans and followers.

She shared a snap from a cafe in London of her new flame, doodling over his eyes to conceal his identity.

Playing into the mystery surrounding her love life she captioned the pic “soft launch” followed by a rocket emoji.

She is lucky to have been let back on the app after she had previously gotten herself banned from using Raya after she was caught screenshotting other peoples photos to send to her friends.

Joking about the incident on the LateLate Show she told Tubs, “Anyway, I screen-grabbed Lewis Hamilton and then this alarm starts coming up, basically going, 'You’ve just identified yourself as a pleb because you’re screen-grabbing the celebrities. You don’t belong here – get out.”

The Dubliner has previously opened up about dating fellow comedians branding the experience “a sh*tshow” and joking that they are all “deranged.”

She told fans on Instagram: “Yes I have dated comics. It was always a sh*tshow.

They’re deranged.

“And in fairness I’m not exactly dealing with the full deck myself so I think my next boyfriend will manifest himself as a restaurateur or an Alsatian,” she joked.

Joanne has also previously revealed how a struggle with an editing disorder used to affect her relationships.

Speaking to the Independent she said: “I was zipping through relationships, but I couldn’t maintain any of them; three months and it was all over. I remember just feeling relief when boys would break up with me, because I would think ‘OK, great, now I can go back to my eating disorder’.”
