Joanna Lumley lifts the lid on Absolutely Fabulous reunion rumours on Loose Women

Loose Women 's Saira Khan, Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan and Linda Robson spoke to Joanna Lumley via video call on Wednesday's show.

Joanna opened up about how she was finding lockdown, her new online theatre venture, and the rumours that Absolutely Fabulous would be returning.

Coleen asked: "I have to jump in here and say that I have heard some amazing rumours that Ab Fab might be coming back, or a reunion, please confirm that's true?"

"Well god, I wish they'd tell me!" replied Joanna.

Joanna said she and Jennifer were planning something with the Ab Fab characters (ITV)

"I don't think it will be, I don't think Jennifer [Saunders] ever wants to write any more Ab Fab.

"But it never really goes away, the feeling that these characters still exist somewhere.

"I would be so nice to do something, me and Jennifer are in constant contact and we are half thinking of something, but it won't be Ab Fab the reunion.

"And also I don't think we should do it without June Whitfield... But maybe something, I don't know. never say never."

Joanna said she was finding it very hard not to see her grandchildren while in lockdown but that she was thankful for video calling.

She added that she did not see her father for a year and a half when she was a child because he was a soldier, and she stressed that three months is a very short time compared to that.

Joanna is involved with the Lockdown Theatre Group to raise money for the theatre community which has been decimated by the pandemic.

She is narrating a live table read and Q&A for Waiting For Godot with Robert Lindsay and Michael Palin, live streamed on Sunday evening.

* Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV
