Joan Collins takes swipe at Kardashians in blow to friend Kris Jenner

Dame Joan Collins has risked damaging her own friendship with Kris Jenner by taking a swipe at the Kardashian family.

The 88-year-old British actress claims to be a close friend of 65-year-old Kris but admits she can’t help but question the appearance of the reality star’s fame hungry offspring.

For years, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian – as well as their half-sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner – have faced scrutiny over their changing appearances from over the years.

And while the reality stars themselves has remained reasonably coy about how much surgery they may or may not have had, Dame Joan has no doubt that they have got under the knife in order to change their faces and figures.

PageSix claim Joan takes the gloves off in her new autobiography, My Unapologetic Diaries, in which she unleashes her views on a string of fellow celebs.

The outlet quotes the star writing: “We all talk about it. Have you ever been in a hairdresser’s? The Kardashians, for instance.”

She goes on to write: “Kris Jenner, their mother, is a good friend of mine and I don’t want to be rude about her children, but there’s an awful lot of surgery there and I’ve talked to my friends about it, as I’m sure you have, the bottoms, the tiny waists.”

The reality stars’ appearances certainly changed over the 14 years that they appeared on their hit reality series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Sisters Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie and Kendall all look unrecognisable today compared to their fresh faced appearances from back in 2007.

But suggestions that the family have enjoyed face lifts, nose jobs, bum implants and tummy tucks in the intervening years have been routinely rejected by the family.

Last year, Khloe hit out at a fan who questioned why her appearance had changed so drastically by sarcastically hitting back: "[It's] from the weekly face transplant, clearly."

She also claimed she has never had a nose job and that she has instead mastered the art of contouring and using make-up to change her facial appearance.

Youngest sister, Kylie, previously revealed she had fillers added to her lips after a boy cruelly mocked the size of her lips while they were kissing.

While famous sister Kim has admitted to using Botox in the past and has also claimed she layered off some of the hair on her face and forehead to ‘open up’ her appearance.

Fans, however, have been convinced that the family have undergone extensive cosmetic surgery procedures – and have slammed the family for creating unrealistic body standards.

One fan hit out on Twitter when Kim claimed she and her sisters always look immaculate because they wake up early to keep themselves looking great – while failing to acknowledge they have a huge amount of wealth and access to trainers and hair and make-up teams.

The unimpressed fan blasted: "kim kardashian saying her family does not promote unattainable standards of beauty because they ‘get up and do the work’ has enraged me so much. your surgeon got up and did the work."

Another wrote: "I saw a clip where they were asked if they felt in any way responsible for today’s intense, unrealistic and mostly unattainable body standards and Kim said no. Anyway, y’all remember when they were selling waist trainers and advertising that these were the results?"

And a further fan wrote online: "Kendall saying their beauty standards aren’t unattainable because they take care of themselves...Most people don’t have 1st class access to trainers, plastic surgeons, medical esthetician’s, and if they did most ppl can’t afford all that. So ya! UNATTAINABLE."
