Joachim Andersen delivers update on his future amid talk of a summer move to Tottenham

Tottenham fans will be hoping to see Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino active in the transfer market this summer.

What is for certain is that they will be linked with numerous players, whether they are likely to come off or not.

One player that is already being touted for a move to north London is Danish defender Joachim Andersen.

The 22-year-old fits the bill for a Pochettino signing - a young centre-back with a couple of seasons at the highest level already behind him.

The five defenders that can solve Spurs' Toby Alderweireld issue in the summer transfer window

Andersen has been almost an ever-present for Sampdoria in Serie A this season, missing just one league game. They are ninth in the table, but just five points off a Europa League spot.

Reports have claimed that Sampdoria chief Antonio Romei has travelled to London to hold talks with Spurs over a potential transfer this summer, and Andersen himself has been talking about his future while on international duty.

Andersen was an unused substitute as Denmark came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Switzerland in a Euro 2020 qualifier on Tuesday night, but he was grilled by Danish outlet BT about links with Spurs.

He said: "It’s football. That’s the way it is. I’m just playing, and it’s positive for me that there’s been a lot written about a lot of big clubs. I can’t do much about it myself. I’ll do the best I can. I’ll have to decide if anything comes up."
