Jo Wood says brother did die from coronavirus and she thinks deadly bug 'escaped from lab'

Jo Wood has confirmed her brother did die from coronavirus and she's shared an outlandish theory that the killer bug "escaped from a lab".

Ronnie Wood's ex-wife was thrown into mourning this week following the loss of artist Paul Karslake, 61, who died in hospital on Monday.

He had been suffering breathing difficulties prior to his death and Jo has now explained he did test positive for Covid-19.

She also passed on a bizarre claim that the virus originated in a lab before spreading across the world.

Jo, 63, tweeted: "So it was COVID that took my brother's life on Monday...

"A deadly virus that escaped from a lab and it’s affected the whole world... This can’t happen again it’s messed up !!! #banthiss**t #timeforchange."

It is generally thought coronavirus originated from a market in China.

Airbrush artist Paul's cause of death is yet to be officially confirmed.

After the sad news, Jo paid tribute to her beloved sibling on Instagram with a picture of the two of them.

She wrote: "This is my brother @Paulkarslakefa who died today... I love him so much I’ll miss him so much a funny talented wonderful father husband and brother...

"He was taken to hospital yesterday morning with breathing problems and at present we do not know the exact reason for his passing.

"The family asks for some peace and consideration and to respect the family's privacy at this very difficult and distressing time.

"The family have also asked that you try not to go to Paul's workshop as it is shut and in this current time it is dangerous to gather with the guidelines for self isolation.

"It is however appreciated how much he was loved. Paul was a fantastic husband, a wonderful father, an amazing family man and an excellent friend to all.

"He is now at peace."

Just three days before his death, Paul had shared a message on his Instagram about environmentalism, alongside his take on one of Monet's famous Waterlilies paintings.

"Let's think about the world at this time, the healing of Mother Nature.
'It's all about the Monet' one of my paintings on #plasticpollution," he wrote.

" #staysafe #safetyfirst #lookafteryourself #health."

Paul leaves behind his wife Sandra Karslake and their children.
