JLS tease new music after success of reunion tour and Ed Sheeran collaboration

JLS have teased they are working on their first new music in over seven years after the success of their comeback tour.

Original members Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, JB Gill and Oritse Williams thrilled fans in 2020 when they burst back into the music world after splitting up in 2013.

And after the success of their Beat Again tour last year and their new album titled 2.0. JB Gill has said the group have plans to record more new material.

The boy band - who split after four albums together - enlisted the help of song writing maestro Ed Sheeran ahead of their 2020 comeback.

And now the four-piece have teased more musical goodness on the horizon.

JB, 35, told Hello! magazine: “We probably won’t tour again this year but with the success of Beat Again and our latest album, I’m sure we’ll be working on new material soon.

“The kids love seeing their daddy up on stage so we don’t really have a choice whether we do another JLS tour or not.”

The boyband, who came runners up to Alexandra Burke on The X Factor in 2008, had announced that they reunited back in February 2020, with their Beat Again Tour scheduled for November 2020 before coronavirus saw it pushed back to October 2021.

The quartet used lockdown to prepare new music for the first time since their split in 2013, with chart-topping songwriter Ed helping the boys out.

They spent the last few months on tour with their new music, frequently bringing their young families along to the shows and even having a soft play area built backstage for their little ones.

Their partners took to Instagram to share cute footage of the backstage fun while the quartet toured.

Their children could be seen wandering around back stage and sitting in stadium seats with their protective headphones covering their ears, dancing and clapping as they watched their dads on stage.

Last year Marvin told how much their priorities have changed since they were last on tour.

"We’re not four young guys running around without a care in the world anymore. We’re all family men."

His wife Rochelle - who has Alaia-Mai, eight, Valentina, five, and Blake, one, with Marvin - added: "We used to wonder where the after party was.

“Now the conversation is about setting up soft play areas backstage."
