JLS singer visits the St Ann's allotments bidding for National Lottery award worth £10,000

A former member of boyband has shown his support for a Nottingham allotment site during a visit to the city.

JB Gill, farmer and singer in JLS, visited the St Ann's Allotments on Thursday, August 8.

Mr Gill has become hugely passionate about farming and heritage. He is especially interested in educating children and adults about the journey of food.

A bid has been made for the allotments in Ransom Road to be named the Best Heritage Project in The 25th Birthday National Lottery Awards.

It is the only Nottingham project in the running for the awards which are searching for the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects and people to celebrate the extraordinary things that have happened with National Lottery funding.

This year the awards are even bigger as it marks a quarter-century since the scheme began.

The projects who win will receive a £10,000 cash prize, a National Lottery Awards trophy and will have their work celebrated at a star-studded ceremony to be broadcast on BBC One on November 19.

Voting runs until 21st August 2019.
