Gryffindor might have been the 'cool' house in the Harry Potter books, but author JK Rowling has hinted that Hufflepuff will have its moment of glory in upcoming spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Rowling regularly shares fun tidbits about the boy wizard and his pals with her five million plus Twitter followers. Most recently she posted a link to a poster celebrating famous Hufflepuff through the ages, made by Harry Potter fansite Pottermore in honour of the house winning its House Cup.
Hufflepuffs are "just and loyal, patient, true and unafraid of toil" according to The Sorting Hat, and celebrity members include witch Helga Hufflepuff, Arithmancy whizz Bridget Wenlock, herbology teacher and Head of House Pomona Sprout, late prefect Cedric Diggory (weep), late Auror Nymphadora Tonks and zoologist Newt Scamander.
It is Newt's Hogwarts textbook, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, that forms the basis for the movie, which stars Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne in the lead. Shooting began in the UK last month.
This is starting to feel like the dawn of the Age of Hufflepuff... #FantasticBeasts https://t.co/j4kj2nYurr

In other Potter news, Rowling confirmed that she intended He Who Must Not Be Named/You Know Who/The Dark Lord's name to be pronounced Voldemort with a silent 't'. She realises that no-one else does this, so try not to freak out.
... but I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who pronounces it that way. https://t.co/HxhJ5XY5HP

Last week, she reminded fans that Harry and Ginny's son James Sirius Potter was starting at Hogwarts with the #BacktoSchool hashtag and sparked a social media frenzy.
James was sorted into Gryffindor, obviously, but by the sounds of things, it's time for Harry, Ron and Hermione's house to take a back seat. Ten points for Hufflepuff!
