JK Rowling has not been snubbed from Harry Potter TV reunion as first claimed

JK Rowling has not been snubbed from a Harry Potter reunion special as first claimed.

Some reports said that the author would not be invited to the Sky production because of her stance on transgender rights.

The Sky production will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter film franchise with former stars including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint set to appear.

All three have criticised JK Rowling recently for her controversial opinions.

But in a preview for the reunion JK Rowling is filmed on screen making an appearance, ending rumours of a snub.

Robbie Coltrane plays Hagrid in the franchise and he is shown speaking in glowing terms about the author.

He said: “One of the many reasons I admire JK so much is that millions now read books who would never have lifted a book up in their lives, and you suddenly realise the power of writing.”

Daniel Radcliffe is filmed talking about the series and how it changed his life.

He said: “The thing that scared me the most was the implication that the most meaningful thing in our life was done.

“And there is something so joyous about seeing everyone.

He continued: “I wouldn’t be the person I am without so many people here.”

The Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts airs on New Year’s Day exclusively on Sky and is available to stream.

The show invites fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time as it reunites esteemed cast members and filmmakers across all eight Harry Potter films for the first time to celebrate the anniversary of the franchise’s first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
