JK Rowling has given aspiring authors some sage advice on how to succeed even in the most difficult situations by drawing from her own experiences as a struggling writer.
On Saturday, the celebrated Harry Potter author shared some words of wisdom to a young writer who was worried about her parent’s disapproval of her dream of writing for a living.
When asked what to do in this situation, she responded:
Do what I did: pretend you want to do something else and write on the sly until you're free to do whatever you want! https://t.co/rgWiQq3H7H

Rowling was a single mother claiming benefits when she wrote the first book in the Harry Potter series in an Edinburgh cafe. She is now one of the richest women in the UK, having amassed an estimated £500 million fortune.
Another writer from Egypt who said people laugh at her ambition because she is female also received some words of encouragement:
Don't you dare let their laughter extinguish your ambition. Turn it into fuel! Big hugs from one writer to another x https://t.co/w3lYXAosJj
