JJ Holloman, fans show support for former UGA TE Luke Ford’s transfer waiver

In January, UGA freshman tight end Luke Ford announced that he would be transferring to Illinois to be near his grandfather as his health has declined.

Despite the decision, however, Ford has yet to receive eligibility from the NCAA to be able to play immediately at Illinois. Georgia and Illinois fans alike started the Twitter hashtag #FreeLukeFord in protest of the NCAA’s apparent unwillingness to grant Ford a waver.

Among the loudest voices in the #FreeLukeFord movement is UGA’s own receiver, Jeremiah Holloman, who took to Twitter to express his sentiments.

UGA fans also began tweeting the hashtag.

All of this support eventually prompted Ford himself to acknowledge the love he is still getting from the Bulldog faithful.

Let’s hope that the NCAA takes notice and gives Ford the right to play immediately.
