Jimmy Nicholl leaves role as Dundee assistant manager

Jimmy Nicholl has left his role as Dundee’s assistant manager, the Scottish Championship club has announced.

The former Northern Ireland defender joined James McPake’s backroom team last summer.

Nicholl joins sports scientist Cammy McDermid in leaving the club, who have reportedly been forced to make cutbacks due to financial pressures following the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement Dundee said: “Dundee Football Club can confirm assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl and first team sports scientist Cammy McDermid have today left the club.

“They both joined the club in the summer of last year and worked alongside manager James McPake during the 2019/20 Ladbrokes Championship campaign.

“We would like to thank Jimmy and Cammy for their service to the club and wish them well for the future.”
