Jimmy Moreland and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie expected to see extended work against Cowboys

The Washington Redskins enter Week 2 of the NFL as one of the most injured teams in the NFL, and their depth at the cornerback position is taking the biggest hit of all.

Both cornerbacks Fabian Moreau and Quinton Dunbar are listed as inactive for this game against the Dallas Cowboys, leaving Washington to plug in several players and hope for the best. Luckily, CB is one of the deepest positions on the Redskins team, and there is real talent on the edges.

With the two starters out of the game, expect to see a lot of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who will see his first extended run since the preseason. On the other side, the Redskins will likely lean on fan-favorite rookie Jimmy Moreland, who will see his first significant workload in his NFL career.

Washington also signed former Houston Texans CB Aaron Colvin during the week, who is expected to dress and possibly play on Sunday. The Redskins picked him up in order to bolster their secondary depth, and his arrival couldn’t come at a better time, with the team reeling with injuries already.

People are excited about the defense in Washington, and on Sunday they will have to show what they can do when they’re put to the test.
