All over the United States, a series of “No Kings” protests took place in many cities on Saturday, June 14.
Thousands of people, including many well-known celebrities from Hollywood, joined these protests to show their disagreement with the Trump administration’s policies. These nationwide rallies were specifically organized to oppose aggressive deportation raids by the government. Stars like Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman protested, among other big Hollywood members.

One of the famous people who joined the protests was late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel. He went to a rally in the South Bay area of Los Angeles with his parents.
Kimmel posted a photo on social media wearing a homemade shirt that said, “Make America Good Again.” He mentioned that the crowd was large and peaceful, and he met many people who said they loved the country and still believed it could do good things. Kimmel also talked about being thankful for how he was raised, which taught him to care about others and the simple but important idea of “Love one another.” His involvement showed his support for standing up for friends and neighbors, focusing on this basic message.
Hollywood stars ban together to protest Trump
Comedian Sarah Silverman was another well-known person at the protests. She posted pictures of herself holding a sign that said, “No Kings Yas Queens,” which matched the feelings of many protesters who thought the president was using too much power. Her message fit with the main idea of the “No Kings” movement, which was to push back against what they saw as the administration acting like authoritarian rulers.
Many actors and performers also joined the protests. Mark Ruffalo, who is famous for his role in the Avengers movies, gave a strong speech at a rally in New York City. He was joined by Broad City stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. Ruffalo spoke about how he believed the Trump administration was ignoring people’s rights, breaking laws, and taking away freedoms.
He encouraged protesters to be brave in fighting for freedom and said that everyone had a responsibility to work together. He ended by saying, “Americans unite,” suggesting that ordinary people were the real heroes in the fight for democracy. Actress Susan Sarandon was also seen marching with Ruffalo in New York, holding an American flag as a sign of unity against the administration.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, a highly respected actress, made her position clear by attending a rally. Her sign joked, “The only monarch I like is a butterfly,” which connected to the “No Kings” theme and her dislike of unchecked power. She also took a picture with Kerry Washington, another celebrity who was actively involved in the protests. Washington, who is known for speaking out on social issues, shared several photos of herself with other protesters, showing their shared commitment to “marching, speaking up, and fighting for Democracy.”
