Jimmy Kimmel has admitted he's ready for any fiasco that might come his way as he prepares to host this year's Oscars.
The 95th edition of the Academy Awards takes place on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and the comedian says he knows how he will deal with any issues similar to last year's slap gate.
Jimmy, 55, made light of last year's incident, which saw Will Smith storm the stage and thump Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke towards Will's wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.
He joked he would eye up any potential slapper to see how big they are before deciding his fate.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said: "Well, I size them up, and, if I'm bigger than they are, I beat the s*** out of them on television."
He joked however, that he wouldn't be quite as brave if it turned out to be someone such as Dwayne Johnson, who is tipped to present at this year's ceremony.
He said if that was that case would would simply "run".
Jimmy isn't the only one to be readying themselves for any potential altercations. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences CEO, Bill Kramer, confirmed there is a "crisis team" working behind the scenes to make sure no issues arise.
He said the confrontation last year had "opened our minds to the many things that can happen at the Oscars".
Speaking to Time last month, he said: "We've run many scenarios. So it is our hope that we will be prepared for anything that we may not anticipate right now but that we're planning for just in case it does happen."
It'll be the third time Jimmy has hosted the ceremony, with his inaugural stint as emcee coming in 2017. He followed it up with another stint the following year and joked upon the gaffe which saw La La Land incorrectly named as the Best Picture winner instead of Moonlight.
Touching on the mishap, he jibed to the crowd: "When you hear your name called, don't get up right away. Just give us a minute. We don't want another thing."
