Jimmy Kimmel asked Raptors fans to talk trash but they were too polite

The Toronto Raptors are just two wins away from capturing the franchise’s first-ever NBA championship and dethroning the unstoppable juggernaut that is Golden State, and there are plenty of NBA fans across the world who would love nothing more than to see a different team raise a banner next year. Raptors fans, however, are quick to praise the Warriors, even when asked to muster up their best trash talk.

In a segment that aired earlier this week on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Raptors fans in Toronto were asked to trash talk the Warriors on camera. The responses were hilariously tame.

  • “Nope. We don’t do that here.”
  • “I would not do that against anybody. Canadians don’t do that.”
  • “No, no, no, no, no. We are polite. We are Canadians.”
  • “I mean they’re a great team. I don’t think I can trash talk them. I think they’re in the Finals for a reason.”

A few fans at least made a passing attempt to roast the defending champions.

  • “Golden State ain’t so Golden anymore, huh?”
  • “You’re losing tonight! You’re losing! That’s it. That’s my trash talk.”
  • “Uh… go to… hell?”

Good job, good effort Raptors fans.
