Jimmy Graham, Deon Bush shove in first Bears camp skirmish

Bears safety Deon Bush was involved in a dust-up with new teammate Jimmy Graham on Tuesday. | AP

The Bears’ first skirmish of training camp broke out Tuesday when safety Deon Bush tackled new tight end Jimmy Graham to the ground during a drill.

Graham jumped up and shoved Bush before teammates ran on the field and pulled them apart.

At issue was the fact that Bush was supposed to “thud” Graham — to make contact but not tackle him.

They’re fine. … ” Bears coach Matt Nagy said. ‘We’re not tackling. So for him, every action has a reaction. That’s just some of the stuff that you see. We talked about it afterwards, after practice, just guys being smart. We talked about being competitive, but not combative.

“It’s all love for one another. Everybody’s good. They’re just playing ball, and I think it’s a learning lesson.”
