Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink shares his big Leeds United fear upon Premier League return

Former Leeds United striker Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink has stated he is concerned about Marcelo Bielsa's striking options upon their Premier League return.

The Whites stuck by Patrick Bamford last season, who regularly got the nod ahead of loanees Eddie Nketiah and Jean-Kevin Augustin, and splashed a club-record fee to land Rodrigo from Valencia in the transfer window.

However, Hasselbaink is concerned by the pair's lack of experience in the top-flight of English football and suggested they should have looked to land a player accustomed to the rigours of the Premier League.

“Last year, they were actually amazing with the amount of chances they created but they needed too many to score,” he told Sky Sports.

“Especially Bamford and the wide players. In the Premier League, you’re not going to get that many so you have to be better with those chances.

“That is one of my biggest worries for them. Why not bring in a proven striker who only needs one or two chances? You know you’re going to create because the playstyle has been good.

“You know you’re going to try to have to the ball a lot, so try to get somebody in the box who can put the ball in the net. That is the hardest thing to do but get somebody who has done it year in, year out.”
