Former Chelsea forward Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Billy Gilmour will take Jorginho's place in the side in the future.
The Italian international has been a bit-part player for the Blues in the Premier League this season, with the 29-year-old being an unused substitute on eight occasions.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Arsenal reportedly eyeing up the former Napoli star back in the summer.
And while young Gilmour, 19, has played just seven times this season, compared to Jorginho's 18 appearances, Hasselbaink believes the teenager can unseat him.
He told BBC Sport that Gilmour has a wider skill set than the ex-Verona player.
“I like him, he handles the ball really, really well," he said. "Chelsea bought Jorginho a few years ago and they now have this boy coming through and I think he will take Jorginho’s place. He has more [about him] than Jorginho.
“He is a really, really good talent.”
Fellow pundit Danny Murphy said Gilmour's performance against Liverpool in the FA Cup last season was something to behold.
He told BBC Sport: “It was a brilliant performance, but size isn’t everything.
“When you think of [Paul] Scholes, Xavi and players like that... he is brilliant.”
Gilmour has struggled with a knee injury, one that kept him out of the side between September and November.
Boss Frank Lampard has not held back in praising the Scottish U21 international.
When Gilmour returned from injury, he said: "Been delighted with him. His attitude in rehab is kind of what I expected, but it’s great to see him do everything right.
"Against Krasnodar (in December) I thought he was fantastic.
"Against Manchester City, a really difficult game to come into, showed personality and quality.
"I’m delighted to have him ready to go. Billy is going to be a huge player for this club."
Gilmour started against Luton Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup, whereas Jorginho is on the bench.
