Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has heaped praise on Leeds United star Pablo Hernandez.
The Spaniard has made 35 appearances this season - an impressive amount for a player very much in the twilight years of his career - and showed he can still make the difference with a late winner against former club Swansea City a couple of weeks ago.
Speaking to Sky Sports recently, Hasselbaink explained that Hernandez's experience is just what is needed in situations like the one Marcelo Bielsa's men found themselves in at the Liberty Stadium.
The former Whites striker also revealed just how vital Hernandez has been to Bielsa this season, pointing to the midfielder's brief cameo against Fulham as a perfect example of what he offers.
Hasselbaink said: “It was massive and he stayed so calm.
"If you look at his position, he knows exactly where to be. He also knows he can have two touches.
"He knows he has to be calm, he doesn’t have to smash it, he just has to hit the corner and that’s what he’s done.
"He’s been instrumental for them, the whole season. I remember the game against Fulham when he came in and totally changed the match. He wasn’t fit, he just did 35-40 minutes and they took him off because it was 3-0.
"They had to look after him, he’s that important.
"He’s somebody everyone looks at to just give him the ball and they know he will make the right decisions.”
