Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Tammy Abraham has failed to kick on this season.
Abraham's playtime has been more limited this season, making 12 appearances across all competitions but only starting four times in the Premier League, much down to the arrival of summer signing Timo Werner, though Frank Lampard has played both in recent weeks.
Despite reduced minutes, Abraham has managed four goals and five assists from his 12 outings, form which has seen him preferred to veteran frontman Olivier Giroud.
Even so, Hasselbaink is still yet to be convinced by the England international, claiming he must work on his movement.
"I haven't seen a big improvement in Tammy Abraham this season at Chelsea," he said when speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes at its launch of the 5-A-Side Bet on Leeds v Arsenal.
"Things looked really promising last year, but for me, he hasn't kicked on. It doesn't matter that Frank Lampard has brought in players - Abraham is still getting enough playtime.
"I think he can improve his hold-up play significantly. I also think he needs to work on his movement when players are coming in from wide positions.
"He's making straight runs and there's not enough sharp movement to take defenders out of position to create space. He doesn't do that enough - and if he did I think he'd score a lot more goals."
Hasselbaink also spoke about Kepa Arrizabalaga's troubles at Stamford Bridge, claiming the Spaniard can't play in England, leaving Chelsea with a 'big problem'.
"It's a big, big problem Chelsea have with Kepa," he added. "They have invested £70m in him and we all know he's not worth that amount of money. But you want to recoup as much of that investment as possible. You're not going to recoup it if he doesn't play.
"I don't think he can play in England. I think he's quite fragile, so you have a problem as a club. But you also have a problem as his manager, because he's your second goalkeeper - but your third goalkeeper is also better than him.
"So what do you do? You have to just hope somebody knocks on your door to come and get him. But everyone now knows he's not wanted at Chelsea and that's the problem you've got when you're trying to recoup that investment.
"It actually puts even more pressure on Frank Lampard because the club cannot afford to bring in another goalkeeper who doesn't do well. They've brought in Edouard Mendy and made a decision not to use Kepa, for whatever reason, right or wrong.
"That investment is going down, so if all of a sudden you start suffering and having a bad run of results, it's going to cause even more of a problem because you've got a £70m goalkeeper that you're not playing.
"As long as Chelsea are doing well, then Frank's OK. But he just has to hope he gets a knock on the door from a club - maybe in Spain - who say 'yeah, we'll take him'. You're not going to get anywhere near £70m back for him though.
"It's a difficult wage to get off the bill. For Kepa it's a disaster as well because he's young, he needs to play. But it's more of a disaster for Chelsea because they're the ones who spent £70m."
