Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink identifies the one change Leeds United need to make

Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink has advised Leeds United to make a significant change to their approach to defending set-pieces following shaky situations so far this season.

The Whites travelled to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the first Premier League meeting between the two historic rivals since February 2004.

However, the fiercely-anticipated game ended up in a match to be forgotten for Marcelo Bielsa's side as they were torn apart by the hosts.

A quickfire double from Scott McTominay was added to by a brace from Bruno Fernandes as well as efforts from Daniel James and Victor Lindelof, with Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Many of the goals will be seen as preventable, which will frustrate the supporters, and Lindelof's effort continued Leeds' poor record in defending set-pieces this season.

As a result, Hasselbaink believes Leeds need to change their approach to be more aggressive when defending these situations moving forward.

“They have to address it. It’s a massive part of the game. To get that many goals against, against West Ham, Newcastle, tonight," he told Sky Sports.

"They have to look at setting up a little bit different and to be a little bit more aggressive. It doesn’t matter how big you are, how small you are, your opponent does not head the ball in. Most importantly, the second ball - you need to be there.”

Leeds now face a week off before their next Premier League fixture against Burnley, before bringing 2020 to a close with a tie against West Brom.
