Jimmy Butler told Karl-Anthony Towns he was ‘soft as baby (expletive)”

The beef between Karl-Anthony Towns and Jimmy Butler continues.

It all started from their time together as Timberwolves and that infamous practice where Butler beat the starters with the second team during a scrimmage. Butler was irritated by what he perceived as a lack of competitive spirit.

Apparently, three years and two teams later, he’s still got beef with Towns over their time in Minnesota.

The two went head to head when the Timberwolves played the Heat on Friday night and things got pretty heated.

During an exchange between the two, Butler was caught by microphones telling Towns that he was “soft as baby [expletive].”

“You’re a loser. I already punked you once.”

Sheesh. That’s…rough. Towns didn’t seem to have much to say back to Butler. He only cracked a smile as they lined up for Bam Adebayo’s free throw.

Anthony Edwards had an explanation for it all, though. That’s just a competitive conversation to him.

“Man, they grown men, dog. They was just talking, having a regular conversation, if you ask me. Y’all come to see us compete. It’s no competition if you’re not talking [expletive] to each other.”

That’s the answer of a 10-year vet right there. Edwards gets it. Towns definitely seemed to get a kick out of it.

Man, it’s unfortunate that we won’t get another Heat-Timberwolves matchup until next season. Because this just became must-see TV.
