Jimmy Butler is getting away with charging $20 for a cup of coffee in the NBA bubble

Jimmy Butler, as we all know, is one of the NBA’s most intense players both to opponents and to teammates.

So maybe it should come as no surprise that the Miami Heat star is charging an exorbitant amount of money for a cup of coffee in the Disney World NBA bubble.

Wait, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s go back to a photo snapped by his teammate Meyers Leonard showing a whiteboard proclaiming “Big Face Coffee” was for sale, with the owner charging $20 for a small, medium or large cup of Joe. It’s cash only, with no IOUs. And yes, it’s a business being run by Butler, per himself and his agent:

Here’s what he told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols:

“I’m working on my coffee skills. After my career, I’m opening my coffee shop. I’m charging $20 a cup, so if you want some, come through. … You can’t get coffee nowhere here! So I might bump it up to $30 a cup, people here can afford it.”

It’s pretty smart when you think about it! If there’s bad coffee in the Magic Kingdom, give players the good stuff and bump up the price for millionaires. And I’m convinced from both the sign and the way Butler talks about it that he makes a quality cup of coffee.

I also don’t know what’s better — this side business or Patrick Beverley possibly selling white t-shirts out of his room.

The bubble is amazing, isn’t it?
