Jim Schwartz announces he won’t return as Eagles defensive coordinator

Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz made his news official, announcing that he’s stepping away from the NFL.

Hired by the Eagles in 2016, Schwartz has spent 27-years in the NFL and 14 as a coordinator.

The Eagles’ defense ranked in the top 15 in Football Outsiders’ advanced metrics in each of Schwartz’s five seasons, including top-five finishes in both 2016 and the Super Bowl Championship season of 2017.
