Jim Herman shoots Sunday 63 to win Wyndham Championship

Jim Herman is heading to the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2017 with a little momentum and a big trophy.

Herman won the Wyndham Championship on Sunday at 21 under after a 7-under 63 in the final round, following a 9-under 61 on Saturday. It’s the 42-year-old’s third PGA Tour win of his career.

Billy Horschel held the lead on Sunday afternoon but a late bogey on No. 16 and missed birdie on No. 18 doomed the five-time winner on Tour to a second-place finish at 20 under.

Next week the top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings travel to TPC Boston for the Northern Trust, the first of three events in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
