Jim Harbaugh: Michigan State 'bush league' for antics; Mark Dantonio: 'That's BS'

The rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State bubbled over before Saturday's game, won by U-M, 21-7.

Two hours before the game, the Spartans locked arms and walked across the field, as is customary for recent Mark Dantonio teams at Spartan Stadium.

There's one problem, though: a few Wolverines had begun to take the field and warm up.

What ensued was a minor dust-up, most especially with a few Spartans and U-M linebacker Devin Bush, who tried to tear up the Spartan logo at midfield after the confrontation.

In their postgame news conference, both U-M coach Jim Harbaugh and MSU coach Mark Dantonio gave their accounts of what happened.

"I just heard about it, I didn't see it," Harbaugh said after his team's victory. "I heard they clotheslined a few of our guys, they came out of their helmets.

"Total bush league," Harbaugh continued. "Apparently, Coach Dantonio was 5 yards behind it, all smiling, so I think that's bush league, that's my impression of it."

"But our guys, they didn't blink. They didn't come here to back down or get intimidated by anybody."

Your thoughts, Coach Dantonio?

"That's BS," Dantonio said. "You guys get your cameras out. I'm not gonna go to that. Go ahead, next question."

A few seconds later, Dantonio said, unprompted: "Bush league? Mmmhmm."

Never a dull moment in this rivalry.
