A man who was being questioned by detectives investigating the murder of Jim Donegan has now been released unconditionally.
Mr Dongean was shot dead in his car as he waited to pick up his 13-year-old son from school on the Glen Road in West Belfast on December 4.
Police arrested a 32-year-old man in the Springfield Road area earlier today. He was taken into custody at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite before being released unconditionally this evening.
Jim Donegan murder investigation ongoing as PSNI arrest another man
A PSNI spokesperson said this morning: "Detectives from PSNI’s Major Investigation Team investigating the murder of Jim Donegan on the Glen Road, Belfast on the 4th December 2018 have arrested a 32-year-old man in the Springfield Road area of West Belfast, earlier today.
"The man was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Jim and on suspicion of membership of a proscribed organisation. He is currently in custody at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite where he is being questioned by detectives."
They said just before 5pm: "A 32 year old man arrested earlier today by detectives investigating the murder of Jim Donegan has been released unconditionally."
