The Pittsburgh Steelers are making a habit out of trying to turn discarded Cleveland Browns cornerbacks into something they can use. It worked (mostly) with Joe Haden, it flamed out badly with Justin Gilbert. Now the Steelers are trying to see if they can turn Jhavonte Dean into something useful.
The Steelers claimed Dean off waivers from the Browns a day after he was waived by Cleveland. The news was posted on the NFL’s transaction page.
Dean failed to make much of a positive impression in Cleveland as an undrafted rookie from Miami. He was waived after playing sparingly in the Browns preseason.
