Jharkhand: TSPC rebel arrested in Chatra

CHATRA: A joint team of Simaria and Kunda police in Chatra district on Friday nabbed an area commander of Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) from Tilasaliya forest in Angadatola under Kunda police station area, police said on Saturday.

The arrested commander was identified as Vishwanath Ganjhu (22).

Three bombs, each weighing 5 kgs, police uniforms, and TSPC literature were seized from his possession, police added.

Kunda officer-in-charge Parmanand Mehra said, “Chatra superintendent of police Rakesh Ranjan got a tip-off about Ganjhu’s presence in that area and that he was extorting from local businessmen and contractors for ongoing development projects here. A team was formed and he was nabbed on Friday,” adding that “Ganjhu’s arrest is a big setback for the TSPC.”
