Jharkhand: Lohardaga govt employee found dead in hotel

GUMLA: Devnath Asur (40), a man from the particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) community, was found dead in a hotel in a market at Maina Bagaicha locality of Lohardaga town late on Thursday.

The deceased, a resident of Tuimu-Pat village under Serendag police station limits in Lohardaga district, was a staff at the land records section of the Lohardaga district administration, the police said.

“Prima facie, it appears that the man was strangulated to death as there are rope marks around his neck. An FIR has been lodged and probe is on,” Lohardaga sub-divisional police officer B N Singh said.
