RANCHI: The court of additional judicial commissioner here on Saturday sentenced former minister Yogendra Saw and his wife, Nirmala Devi, who was also a former MLA, to six months imprisonment each in a case registered with the Barkagoan police station in 2016. They parents of Barkagoan Congress MLA Amba Prasad.

Special public prosecutor Parmanand Yadav said three persons including Saw, Devi and one Mantu Soni were sentenced to six months each in the case while six others were given three-month imprisonment each and they have already served their sentence. The case (135/16) is related to an agitation staged by Saw and Devi against the NTPC in 2016. The same court had on March 24 sentenced the duo to 10 years’ in prison in another case.
