JFC Edinburgh chicken shop sees huge queues after being called 'best in Scotland'

An Edinburgh restaurant has gone viral after being called home to the 'best fried chicken in the country'.

Jimmy's Fried Chicken, or JFC for short, opened earlier this year in the Swanfield Industrial Estate, and has clearly not disappointed after large queues have been spotted coming from their hatch.

Selling chicken skewers and nuggets as well as huge feasting boxes, the takeaway has become extremely popular as locals search for somewhere new to try during lockdown.

This weekend, JFC also went viral on social media after a local food blogger named it as being the best chicken in Edinburgh, if not in Scotland.

Posting on the TikTok app, Pippa Perriam (also known as @eatinburgh) shared her experience of visiting the restaurant, and left mouths watering with the selection of chicken she chose.

Since uploading the video, it has had over 200k views, with thousands of people all over the world desperate to try the succulent comfort food.

The clip also showed large queues in the industrial estate, as other hungry Edinburgh residents waited to get their orders.

Currently only open on limited days, the video also added that despite arriving just after the opening time of 1pm, there were already a number of people waiting at the hatch door.

Using almost every single part of the chicken in their dishes, owner James Murray has also worked in restaurants run by Gordon Ramsay in the past, and has even had a Michelin star for his previous restaurant, Nur.
