Jewson unveiled as Ayr United's first ever Official Partner in 'first of its kind' deal for club

Ayr United have unveiled a deal hailed the "first of its kind" off the park at Somerset.

Builders' merchants Jewson will become the new official partner of The Honest Men as part of a substantial investment into the club.

The agreement is being deemed "one of the most significant" in United's history.

Jewson, who last year became Ayr's social media sponsor, will dramatically up their presence in and around Somerset as part of the deal.

Officials from the firm will make use of United's boardroom and hospitality facilities while employees will get the chance to become regulars at Ayr games.

The company will also look to offer free tickets to local children as the two parties work closely together.

Jewson's investment into the Somerset coffers is among the biggest in the club's history outwith United's ongoing shirt sponsorship deal.

Allan Davidson, Jewson's Regional Director for Scotland, North East & Lakes, said: ”Supporting the local community is really important to us, so this year we have expanded our sponsorship to also be first team training kit sponsor, as well as their live streaming sponsor, in addition to continuing as their official Social Media sponsor.

"We wish Ayr United the best of luck with their up and coming season, and we’re honoured to support them again for another season.”

Alan Tombs, who heads up Jewson's Ayrshire branches, added: "It's very important to us to be involved in a club which does such great work in the community.

"A lot of our employees and customers are Ayr United fans and have that identity with the club and that's something we want to build on moving forward.

"This is about far more than a sponsorship for us - hence the official partnership.

"We see ourselves and Ayr working very closely together and it's a deal that can be of great benefit to both parties."

United commercial manager, Graeme Miller, said: "The key word here is 'partner'.

"This isn't about a few advertising boards around the ground or extra branding on our social media posts.

"Our relationship with Jewson has been great over the last couple of years and this is the natural evolution of that.

"They are a company whose brand has a presence at many major events around the country, so to have them as our first ever official partner is a landmark deal and one we hope will lead to a lengthy association.

"Their team will be welcome at Somerset to make use of facilities such as our boardroom, where they will come in and see their 'official partner' signage.

"And as a company they will hopefully become synonymous with Ayr United."
