A Jewish man has been assaulted and a Hanukka stall damaged in an anti-Semitic attack in north London.

Officers were called to reports of a racially aggravated assault outside West Hampstead Overground station on Heritage Lane at approximately 7.30pm on December 2.

The suspect made anti-Semitic comments towards the victim, in his twenties, before damaging a display that had been erected to celebrate the festival of Hanukka.

Police said the suspect assaulted the victim and suggested he had a knife, before leaving the scene. The victim was not seriously injured.

Officers have been carrying out inquiries and today released a CCTV image of a man to whom they wish to speak.

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to call police via 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference CAD 6588/02Dec
