Jewish Book Week: Amos Oz and Amy Bloom

In this week's podcast our panellists look at whether there is such a thing as a Jewish literature. We explore who the canonical writers might be – from Philip Roth to Isaac Bashevis Singer - and examine the qualities and influences that both divide and separate them. Jonathan Safran Foer tells us why we should all be reading Howard Jacobson.

We also discuss why women are so seldom mentioned in any discussion of literary greats and we interview one of the best – Amy Bloom – about her brilliant new short story collection.

We also ask Amos Oz why he has turned to European fable for inspiration for his latest book.
