Jewels for mixing and for matching

Known for crafting extravagant pieces, Beauty Gems has a fashion-forward design department that encourages sporting fine jewellery as a part of everyday outfits, not only red-carpet gowns.

Accessorising with multiple brooches.

"Wearing jewellery is about having fun in the mix-and-match. The pieces may seem like an odd combination, but when you put them on, they harmoniously make modish accessories," said Suriyon Sriorathaikul, managing director of Beauty Gems Factory.

The sparkling mix-and-match was showcased at the Most Exquisite Jewellery Show, held recently by the Thai jewellery house in conjunction with the annual flower fair and 102nd anniversary of Nai Lert Park Heritage Home.

A butterfly ring and brooches were put in the spotlight as a fashion staple, the latter with more than one pinned on apparel. The brooches also adorn sleek tresses, which can also be graced by bejewelled bracelets as a headband.

"Like costume jewellery, the versatile fine jewellery can be contemporary and chic but favourably worn with an appreciation of precious stones created by nature," said Suriyon.

Colourful gems dazzle on floral designs that tied in with the beauty of the blooms presented at the annual flower fair. From Beauty Gems' extensive flower collection, 103 pieces were auctioned at the event, to raise funds for the Safeguard Kids Foundation.

Brooches include the diamond-set white gold Cattleya orchid, the yellow gold Royal Orchid embellished with rubies, emeralds and diamonds, and white gold Floricultural with fancy pink sapphires and diamonds.

The white-gold Scrophulariaceae necklace and earrings also feature diamonds and pink sapphires to evoke the pink flowers under the figwort family.

Sapphires make for the blue Kalanchoe blooming on a white gold necklace with diamonds and white pearls, while rubies and diamonds embellish La vie en Rose ensemble of white gold necklace, earrings and a ring.

Fancy sapphires in three colours along with diamonds make the white gold Carmelita statement necklace with matching earrings, a ring, a brooch as well as a bracelet.

"Tricolour jewellery is a big trend this year," Suriyon noted. "Moreover, there's no rule in the mix-and-match of colours and designs, in order to enjoy wearing the jewellery."
